Lila Hudgins - Emerging Artist
Twenty year old DC - borne artist Lila Hudgins moved to the Central American country of Panama when she was just two. She grew up surrounded by a multitude of different cultures and languages, as well as some of the most beautiful beach and jungle scenery that the world has to offer. She has done art all her life, but when she started oil painting at the age of eleven, she saw how she was really able to translate her interpretation of the world around her onto the canvas.
Now Lila studies at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She is pursuing an Art History degree - but devotes most of her time to painting and developing her practice. Lila is currently working on an extended project called Painting for Panama, an art collection and charity exhibition for JLM Christian Foundation, a registered non-profit back home in Panama.
